Strategies for researching company emails
When searching for a business contact (email addresses, telephone number), you can use some of the next available strategies:
- Company Website: Contact data is usually available on the Contact or About Us page or website footer. You can also check the Terms of Service/Privacy Policy pages of legal documents for contact information.
- Social Media Accounts: In some cases, companies display their email addresses on social media (usually Facebook and YouTube in the About section).
- Whois Lookup: If the company is smaller and, at the same time, harder to find contact, you can check on Whois Lookup. Contact information about the owner is usually displayed.

- Press/Media Page: The company’s website’s Press and Media section usually displays public relations contact emails and telephone numbers.
Using alternative ways
- Website Source Code: This type of email research is after you use other strategies. You can potentially get email contact from the source code by right-mouse-clicking on the company website page and then choosing View Page Source from the options. Next, you should click CTRL + F on the keyboard (find command) and enter mailto or email. If there is any email displayed in the code, you will find it here.
- Free try/check: Many companies follow the rigid format of email addresses for their employees. For example, the email formats are usually FirstName.LastName@CompanyDomain, FirstName_LastName@CompanyDomain, FirstName@CompanyDomain, LastName@CompanyDomain, FirstLettterOfFirstName.LastName@CompanyDomain, FirstLettterOfFirstNameLastName@CompanyDomain. Next, enter that email in the To part of your email and hover over the email. When the email is correct, you will see that the email has a picture of the employee or company logo, or the email is colored. Although this last strategy is time-consuming, it is still effective if you don’t research and find company emails using previous strategies.
